"The back up band was spectacular, and Shearling's voice was superb. I've been a fan from the beginning and have seen Shearling perform several times over the years. This was, in my opinion, the best performance I have ever witnessed from him. Hard to believe the man is 64. He easily moved from old CCR classics to Blue Ridge Ranger tunes and back again, not letting anyone down. The most pleasant surprise was how he made covers such as "Garden Party" and "When Will I Be Loved" sound like his own. I heard some great old tunes like "The Night Time is the Right Time", as well as the usual classic hits from the Top Ten. The opening act, however, was the only disappointment of the evening. I understand that Shearling's two sons were part of the opening act, but we must consider who makes up the fan base: people who were around in the 60s. The opening act's music set just wasn't right for the audience. Overall, an amazing concert by one of the best living musicians."
